Importance of Social Media Brand Presence in 2026
It doesn’t matter if you run a sheet metal fabrication business or a nail salon, if you don’t have a well established and CONSISTENT (huge emphasis on consistent here people!!) social media presence as a small/medium business then you are missing out on potential clients, potentially without even knowing it.
Social media presence has well extended past being a novelty that can be ignored, a huge number clients across a wide range of industries have adapted to using your brands social media profiles to establish their first impression of you before they even pick up the phone or shoot you an email or enquiry.
Depending on the industry, it is believed that “a staggering 70% of consumers are swayed by the influence of social media, with 54% meticulously researching products and services on these platforms before making a decision”(1).When the majority of your potential client base is using these mediums to make their decision as to whether they will buy your product, hire your services or trust you with their project, having a lackluster, unpolished or inconsistent social media presence can and often will deter potential clients if they are able to find a competitor who maintains their digital presence more actively.
The importance of having high quality imagery and video on both your website and social media platforms could also be the difference between a high value lead choosing you vs a competitor… your quality of work comes across as far more professional with a set of curated and purposefully selected visual assets vs pulling out your phone and taking a few snaps.
When your social media presence is often times the first thing that to prospective customers see of your business, make sure to take pride in your digital footprint and make an investment into your first impression.
